Labor Day is coming
AAA projects that 35.5 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more this Labor Day weekend. That’s about 10 million homes that look unoccupied. Burglars always target unoccupied homes because — well, wouldn’t you? There is less risk in getting in and out quickly of an unoccupied home. Even if there is an alarm system installed, burglars often anticipate an alarm and will grab what they can before heading out. And let’s face it, very few items are ever recovered after a break-in. The one thing that is never recovered is your peace of mind in your own home — your sanctuary.
So this Labor Day at BeON, we encourage you to take every precaution you can to make your home look occupied: taking in the trash, leaving a TV on, or leaving a stereo on all helps, but the advantage of light is that it goes far in the night and steers burglars into a different direction before they even think about approaching your house.
